Clinical Supervision

Robbie B.

Mental Health Occupational Therapist

Telehealth OT Specialist

Robbie has been a Mental Health Occupational Therapist for over a decade. Robbie is passionate about the supervision needs of allied health professionals and believes that all clinical practices intersect with the field of mental health. Robbie understands that the clinical work that allied health clinicians can manage is often complex, challenging, confronting, nuanced and at times, it can also be quite isolating. Through supervision, Robbie seeks to build the knowledge, skills, capacity and understanding of his supervisees to provide safety in practice, preserve client and clinician wellbeing, ensure AHPRA compliance is maintained, and help clinician’s grow their relevant professional and clinical skills.

Robbie appreciates that working as an allied health clinician can be challenging and the work is often complex. However Robbie believes that by establishing safety and connection in the supervisory space, we can build the capacity of supervisee's to manage the intricacies and complexities of the work that we do every single day. Furthermore, Robbie believes that supervision can help practitioners build their confidence, establish and preserve boundaries, minimise the impacts of imposter syndrome, navigate the complex and often confusing
schemes (NDIS, Medicare etc) with the overarching aim to build clinician's competencies, skills and understandings. Whether you are a new graduate clinician or someone with years of experience, Robbie is keen to support your professional and clinical goals with safety and growth being kept front of mind.

Robbie would like to acknowledge that although he is a mental health Occupational Therapist, he regularly supervises many different allied health clinicians from varying disciplines that work across an array of health sectors (paediatrics, neuro, rehab, etc). Robbie recognises that the supervision space is one focussed on client care, professional growth, compliance, reflection, operational development, safety management and so much more- these themes and concepts intersect across all allied health disciplines and over all sectors of health care. So whether you're an Occupational Therapist or a Social Worker interested in clinical supervision, don't hesitate to reach out to see if the fit between you and Robbie is right!
